McDavitt Relocates Training Operation To Senatobia, Mississippi Kevin McDavitt has moved his horse training operation from Collierville, Tennessee to Senatobia, Mississippi. Making the move also was wife Kim and children Cole, 9 and Mercy, 2. The new location is at 8477 Highway 4 West, which is the barn Bill Rutland operated from in the past. Moving to the Senatobia area offered McDavitt more acreage and closer access to Tunica arena which hosts Circle G Quarter Horse shows and Mid-South Quarter Horse shows as well as numerous other shows during the year. “ I had been looking for about a year,” McDavitt related. “I feel like this will be better for business.” McDavitt has been in business training horses for 23 years. He apparently inherited his interest in horses from his father, Dale McDavitt, who was a trainer living in Illinois and Kansas for much of his career. He served as an AQHA judge for more than 30 years prior to his death earlier this year. McDavitt trains show horses for both Western and English disciplines as well as developing horses for trail riding. He offers lessons to beginner riders and extending to advanced show riders. He teaches body control, speed control, and guiding control for the horses and rider. Beginners learn about the care, grooming and tack as well as riding. Over his career McDavitt has produced numerous winners including two Paint World Champions, numerous AQHA Champions and several Congress Champions. The veteran trainer enjoys teaching others what is particular fond of working with kids and watching them advance in their riding ability. McDavitt offers stall boarding and now with his increased acreage is offering pasture boarding. Stalls are also usually available for rent during week-end shows.
