Lindsey Calton Attends Academy of Equine Dentistry Lindsey Calton of Collinwood, Tennessee attended the Academy of Equine Dentistry in May 2006. She has 100 hours in the field so far and graduated the PG-1 course level. The academy is located in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. During her training, she learned how to correctly and thoroughly float horses’ teeth, extract wolf teeth, extract deciduous teeth and molars, accomplish incisor alignment, reduce K9’s, remove plaque, read X-rays and treat periodontal disease. Close to half of her training was in the classroom and the other half was performing dentistry on horses with the best Equine Dentists in the world. The Academy of Equine Dentistry is the most well-known equine dentistry school in the world. The founder of the school is Dale Jeffrey, who is doing a wonderful job of running it. They have had thousands of people from all over the world attend their school. When Lindsey attended, there were people from Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Africa, England, Australia, Canada, Jamaica and all over the United States. Lindsey attended the school because she wanted to help her horses and other people’s horses eat better, feel better, perform better and also add years onto their lives. She said “It was the best experience of her life and also a lot of fun.” She plans to go back to the academy in May 2007.
