21st Mid South Quarter Horse Breeders Futurity At Show Place Oct. 24 & 25 The Mid South Quarter Horse Breeders Futurity (MSQHBF) will return to the Shelby Show Place Arena for their 21st year on October 24 and 25. MSQHBF is the second largest equine event held in the Memphis & Shelby County area each year. The Germantown Charity Horse Show ranks first. A heralded annual event, MSQHBF is very well attended and is considered to be the premier ending for the Mid South area quarter horse show season. Presented at Show Place Arena, it is the only American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) approved show held in Shelby County each year. It offers a full AHQA program (80 classes), Open, Amateur, Novice Amateur, Youth and Novice Youth, plus 14 halter and performance classes for Mid South Quarter Horse Breeder eligible horses only. The show highlight is the Stallion Service Auction on Stallion Avenue, a trade show of sorts, where breeders feature and display their stallions and participating offspring. Currently there are 68 horses are enrolled in the auction. We are very proud of our AQHA show results, with more than 28 states represented. The AQHA program draws over 1050 entries over the three days. The Futurity portion of the program included 200 entries competing each day. Directly responsible for our continued success is the support of the many "mare owners" who continue to breed to MSQHBF stallions. Of course an event of this size and magnitude could not be produced without AQHA exhibitors and our sponsors. Founded in 1982, MSQHBF is comprised of 57 quarter horse stallions standing in select counties in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi. MSQHBF was founded for the sole purpose of improving the quality of the quarter horse by offering the services of select stallions and exhibition opportunities in which the off spring of these stallion can compete.
