Neisler's I'M BLAZING HOT Really Is by Tom Burriss James and Linda Neisler have a two-year-old to be proud of. The Jackson, Tenn. residents have earned some large titles with their latest progeny. I'M BLAZING HOT, under the training and exhibition of Dustin Davis of Moscow, Tenn., came home in 2001 with a pair of titles: AQHA Congress Champion Limited Western Pleasure and Reserve World Champion two year-old Western Pleasure. The BLAZING HOT by ZIPS CHOCOLATE CHIP cross is a third generation progeny on the Neisler farm out of MY HOPES N' DREAMS, who, according to Linda "made us in the horse business." The man is now 22 years old. James, who has been involved with horses for 25 years now, does all the background breeding work and research for their program. When he and Linda married, she had no interest for the horses. She was more interested in going out on their boat. It took a special and "sweet mare which came along," to help her change her mind. One which had foundered in all four feet but gave her a chance to develop a relationship with horses. With her, she went on to show 6th in the nation and earn 35 halter points. From there the operation has grown to where the Neislers now have 14 expecting mares. Linda cares for many of the horses on her own: brushing, longeing, and feeding. When it came time for the Congress "I was a total nervous wreck." It was, after all, their first time to Congress. Linda ended up missing the open showing of I'M BLAZING HOT. When she arrived, her mare was the buzz in the arena. "Everyone was so excited...and talking about her," she remembers. Then came time for I'M BLAZING HOT to show in the finals. "I couldn't believe that she belonged to me," Linda recalls ,"it was our first time to Congress and we raised her." With 23 year-old Dustin Davis at her helm, they went on to best 170 others in her class. They quickly followed their performance with a Reserve World Championship in the Western Pleasure Class in Oklahoma City. I'M BLAZING HOT has earned them over $30,000, not to mention a bevy of hardware and prizes. Right now, the Congress champion is taking a well deserved rest at the recommendation of Davis. "It is hard on a horse to win," echoes, Linda. "We're thinking of breeding her for next year."
