Tennessee High School Rodeo Association (TNHSRA) held its first rodeo of the spring season on March 19-20, 2022 at the Show Place Arena in Cordova, Tenn. It was a joint rodeo with TNHSRA, Tenn. Youth Rodeo, Kentucky High School Rodeo Association, and Kentucky Junior High Division. The rodeo was preceded by an IBRA-sanctioned Open 4D Barrel Race, with all proceeds going to support TNHSRA. Photographer Gary Cox got photos of Friday night’s Barrel Race and Saturday’s HS/Jr. High Rodeo.

Saturday’s performance started at 9 a.m. in the main indoor arena with High School (HS) Bull Riding, followed by Junior High Steer Bareback, HS Bareback, HS Saddle Bronc, Junior High Saddle Steer, Junior High Barrels, HS Barrels, Junior High Tie Down Roping, Junior High Ribbon Roping, HS Tie Down Roping, Junior High Team Roping, HS Team Roping, Junior High Boys Breakaway, Junior High Girls Breakaway, HS Breakaway, Steer Wrestling, Junior High Bull Riding, and finished with the rest of the HS Bull Riding.

Activities in the covered outdoor arena started with Junior High Girls Goat Tying, followed by HS Girls Goat Tying, Junior High Boys Goat Tying, Chute Dogging, Junior High Poles, and finished with HS Poles.

Sunday’s performance started with Cowboy Church at 7:30 a.m., and competition got underway at 9 a.m., following the same order as on Saturday.
