West Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association closed out its 2007 show season with the National-rated Harvest Time show, November 9-12, 2017 at the Germantown Charity Horse Show arena in Germantown, Tennessee. The show featured several defining classes: the $15,000 1.15m Jumper Classic; the David Q. Wright Equitation Classic; and the USEF National (A) Rated Jumper Level 3. Brilliant fall weather was ideal for exhibitors on Saturday, which also offered several Hunter Classics: Adult, Children’s, Amateur Owner 3’3” and 3’6”, Small Junior, Large Junior and Junior 3’3” Classics. For ponies the show offered the Green Pony Classic and the Pony Classic.
Sunday’s show featured the WTHJA Hunter Derby and the David Wright Equitation Classic, which paid $1,500 in prize money – going to the winner’s trainer. The cover for the show’s prize list highlighted an array of photos of David Q. Wright. The equitation classic was sponsored by Hunters Court Stables and Linda Seay.
Saturday’s “dark o’clock” exhibitors’ party fed guests a hot, filling meal at the baked potato bar.
The $15,000 1.15M Jumper Classic attracted eight entries, and the winner was Shanna Beyer with Invictus, trained by Mary Mielenz, who took home $5,500 for her efforts. Caroline Monaghan and Sevani were second, with Michael Tokaruk and Virginia Connors’ Karma coming in third.
Fifteen entries vied for the win of the David Q. Wright Equitation Classic. Kristen Schnelle and Adele topped them all, with prize money going to husband/trainer Jason Schnelle. Riley Zinn and Champlain Jane, trained by Jane Olsen, finished second. Ella Trotz and As Ever were third, trained by David Pellegrini.
There were 14 entries for Sunday’s Hunter Derby, as Sarah Morris and Gidget had the winning round. Mary Ashley Bateman and Ultaire finished second, and Shea Taylor and Charisma finished third.
In the WIHS/NAL Children’s Hunter Classic it was Emma Prather and her Keep the Cash taking the blue ribbon and winner’s cup, over eight other entries. Sarah Liegmann and Catani were second, with Jamie Sokoloff and Great As Iz in third.
Susan Ross and Mindy Wurzburg’s Overseas won the WIHS/NAL Adult Amateur Classic. Sarah Morris and Gidget were second, with Kristen Schnelle and Adele placing third.
The Amateur Owner/Junior Hunter Classic attracted sixteen entries, as Tate Allen and Balletomane were the best in the judge’s opinion. Olivia Yukon and Levonworth were second, with Ella Trotz and As Ever placing third.
Kersten Sudlow and her Athena Du Rouet were champions in the 1.20/1.30m Jr. /AO Jumper division. The pair placed fifth in the $15,000 1.15m Jumper Classic.
Calder Trotz and Not So Secret won the Marshall & Sterling U.S. Pony Medal. Ava Swords and My Way posted second place. And McKenzie Welch and Magical Me were third.
Short Stirrup Hunter Champion was Avery Barber riding Anakena, and Anna Walters, on The House Bunny, was Reserve.
