[Media Scoring Report]
Lovely spring weather ushered in the first USDF recognized Dressage show of the 2017 season at Mid-South Dressage Academy (MDA), April 1-2, 2017. Judge was Dinah Babcock, “S” from Dripping Springs, Texas. The majority of rides were at Training Level and First Level, but rides were spread across the spectrum from Intro Tests to Prix St. Georges.
High Point riders were:
JR/YR: Caitlyn Massey on Zassafrass
Adult Amateur: Ashley White on Alunio
Open: Katy Stoy on Flash Gordan HF
There were a number of high scoring riders at this show. In Training Test 3, Jennifer Van De Loo and Fair Gold HM earned 70.455%. Caitlyn Massey and Zassafrass scored 70.610% in Second Level Test 3 Pony. In JR/YR Dressage Seat Equitation, Caitlyn and Zassafrass scored a whopping 85.000%! Daniel Patterson and Sacred Showdown were not shabby either, scoring 72.000%. In the Jr/YR Second Level Rider Tests, Caitlyn scored 80.400%. In Open Training Test 1, Jamie Lawrence and Valencia ADP scored 70.000%.
In upper level classes, Allison Driver and Farleight scored 64.737% in JR/YR FEI Prix St. Georges 2017. Natasja Massey and Windsor scored 67.222% in Open Fourth Level Test 2. Elizabeth Clifton, riding El Samson Ga, scored 66.486% in Adult Amateur Fourth Level Test 1, and the pair scored 67.308% in AA Third Level Test 3. Jamie Lawrence, riding Franz Marc, scored 65.455% in Open Third Level Test 1.
Elizabeth Clifton’s rescue pony performed very well at the show, too. Ridden by Kinley Scott, MDA Maximus scored 70.313% and 69.063% in the AA Intro Test B Pony. In the AA Introductory Walk-Trot Test C, Max scored 67.500% and 69.063%.
