The Jaeckle Centre in Thompson’s Station, Tenn. hosted its annual Fall Classic Horse Show, November 18-20, 2016. This year, the 2016 Middle Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association (MTHJA) MedalFinalswere held in conjunction with the Fall Classic Horse Show. Between the Fall Classic show and the MTHJA Medal Finals, over 100 horses were shown at the facility during their two and a half day show. Stalls were sold out!
The show kicked off at 6 pm on Friday evening with Warm Up followed by a variety of Hunter Classes plus Equitation and MTHJA Horse Medal 3’. Saturday’s classes began at 8 am with Special Hunter, Short Stirrup, Long Stirrup, moving into Hunter Pony divisions, and Baby Green. Later in the day were the MTHJA Horse Medal 2’6” and the MTHJA Medal Finals classes – the highlight of the show. Sunday’s classes began at 8 am with Ground Poles, Walk/Trot, Green and Beginner divisions, Low Schooling, and finished with the Jumper classes.
To qualify for the Medal Finals, competitors had to gain points by attending MTHJA shows throughout 2016 show season, which runs from December 1 through November 30. The Medal Finals featured 28 riders who had gained sufficient points to compete. This year MTHJA has made changes in the awards. They retired the old silver plate award which had been handed down throughout the years. New prizes were offered, such as a director’s chair, two beautiful back packs, along with rows and rows of gorgeous ribbons. They were able to make these prizes possible thanks to the sponsorship of Whirlwind Farm.
Along with the Medal Finals competition, MTHJA offered an exhibitor’s party before the course walk, which everyone was welcome to attend.
Having this special event at a top flight facility like the Jaeckle Centre makes this evening of competition even more special. 2016 Medal Finals winners included Lexi White in the 3’3” division; Abby George, the High Point Rider; and Allie Helmbrecht, in the 2’ division.
