Nestled in the hills of middle Tennessee, in fact, just about in the exact geographical center of Tennessee, is a horse facility that has almost everything for the horse and rider. The 100-acre Circle G Ranch, located just north of Campbellsville, has a large sand footing outdoor arena; an indoor arena large enough for a full dressage arena, complete with observation deck and mirrored walls,; several barns with large rubber matted stalls and hallways; hot and cold water wash racks; plenty of trails; wood fenced paddocks; and even an obstacle course for an Extreme Trail Challenge.  Facilities for humans include trailer hook ups, one and two bedroom furnished apartments complete with kitchen and WI FI, and a furnished three bedroom cottage. There is also a large party barn that can accommodate catered events.

Circle G is a popular place to hold weddings, as well as barrel races and horse shows of every discipline – from hunter/ jumpers, Quarter Horses, gaited horses, and dressage shows. The Mells Fox Hound kennel is just down the road and Mells annual Blessing of the Hounds was held at Circle G Ranch this year, as well as the hunt breakfast following the Opening Meet foxhunt. That same weekend there was a wedding in one of the barns and a barrel race in the arena. The place stays pretty busy!

Kimber Goodman and her husband Sam purchased Circle G a few years ago. They are friendly and easy going folks who did many of the upgrades previously mentioned. They also did extensive landscaping and they keep the place immaculate.  The couple lives there, along with their horses and their dog Wyatt. The stalls are wood, iron and brass, and could be mistaken for stalls in the Royal Mews. Every barn is cleaned and disinfected daily. Indeed, there is no manure odor anywhere! Although horse people do not mind horse smells, non-horse people attending weddings and other events may mind them.  A wedding is as likely to be held inside the barn as anywhere else on the grounds.

Kimber is the horse enthusiast in the family. Her daily haute couture is a cowboy hat, boots, and chinks. She uses Natural Horsemanship techniques to train a variety horses. She has been a trainer for the Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge several times. Sam surprised her at one of the Mustang events by bidding high and purchasing for her the Mustang that she trained. She also likes to ride Arabians and Quarter Horses.

Sam is a motorcycle rider – and owner of S&G Custom Cycles in Columbia, TN. The business traces its roots back to 1919, and Sam took it over in 1973. He restores vintage motorcycles and builds custom motorcycles.

Another mode of transportation that Kimber and Sam own is a collection of vintage carriages, including one dating back to the Civil War.

In addition to all of the horse shows, weddings, trail rides and fox hunting, Circle G holds a horse camp for children in the summer.   Find out more about Circle G Ranch at their website: www.circlegranchevent.com
