Brownland Farm Fall Show Debuts Grass Derby Field

The Brownland Farm Fall I show, September 3-7, 2014 in Franklin, TN debuted the new Grass Derby Field on Sunday September 7. Brownland added the $5,000 Brownland Farm Hunter Derby to Sunday’s schedule, which drew 17 entries. Julie Curtin and Mythbuster took the top prize at the grand unveiling of the Grass Derby Field. Miguel Ventura and Silver Lining placed second, with Louis Graves and Petra rounding out third.

Bowers Cone and VIP Quality Royale were winners of the Brownland Farm $25,000 Grand Prix at the Fall I show. Frank Owens came in second on Capricello 2, while Tim Maddrix and Secretive placed third. Michael Burnette finished fourth on Iron.

The Brownland Farm Fall II AA-rated show found good weather for competition September 10-14. This show’s $5,000 Hunter Derby drew over 30 horses, with Tim Maddrix and Special the winners on a pleasantly cool morning. Louise Graves and Petra were second, with Emily Hertz and Outspoken coming in third. Tim was sixth on his other horse Third Day.
Paul Yanke and Chill Haze won the $25,000 Grand Prix. Kris Killam and Black Diamond came in second, and Michael Burnett with Iron were third.
