A few sprinkles of rain before the match didn’t stop the 18th annual Chukkers for Charity Polo Match and Classic Car Show, held Saturday September 6, 2014 in Franklin, Tennessee. Once again, the event was graciously hosted by Lee Ann and Orrin Ingram at their Riverview Farm. The highlight of the event was world-class polo player Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras. “Nacho was very personable and patient as sponsors and guests had their photo taken with him and his wife Delfina Blaquier,” said Susan Andrews, media contact for the event. “He stayed the whole evening and was very social!  He played on the winning team, Autoweek/Nissan, which defeated the Ash Blue team with a final score of 10 - 7.”

Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, renowned as one of the 100 best polo players in the world, competes in his home country of Argentina as well as on the US Black Watch Polo Team. He is also recognized as the Ralph Lauren Black Label model and the face of the World of Polo fragrance lines.

The event featured a vintage car show, silent auction, and tailgating competition. The theme, selected by the co-chairs, was “Summer’s Last Swing.” Guests were encouraged to celebrate the theme through the décor of their individual cabana tailgating headquarters. The Patron’s tent was sold out with 560 in attendance. Sargent’s Fine Catering of Franklin, TN provided the scrumptious menu.

Chukkers for Charity benefits the Rochelle Center and Saddle Up! The Rochelle Center offers support services for adults with developmental disabilities, helping them become self-reliant tin the community. Saddle Up! is middle Tennessee’s oldest and largest organization offering equine assisted therapies, exclusively serving children and youth with disabilities. The amount raised for the charities is still being tallied.
