Jim Mills, the first place winner of a ton of Purina feed in the 2013 Purina Check-R-Board Sweepstakes, has donated the feed to Redemption Road Horse Rescue in Jackson TN. The presentation was made on July 29, 2014 at Purina dealer R&J Feed Supply in Jackson, TN. Present were Jim and his family, Ginger Kemp, co-owner of R&J Feed Supply, Rusty Bane from Purina Mills, and Lorie Collins and Melissa McBride from Redemption Road Horse Rescue.
Purina Animal Nutrition conducted the national sweepstakes at participating Purina dealers. Purina Check-R-Board Days is a customer appreciation event for Purina dealers to thank their loyal customers and to attract new customers. It is also a way for Purina to thank their loyal dealers. Hundreds of these events were conducted last year at Purina dealers coast to coast with thousands participating in the national sweepstakes.
Lorie Collins explained how Redemption Road Horse Rescue has rescued over 100 malnourished horses in the past year, rehabilitating them and finding new homes for many. She expressed her gratitude to Jim for his generosity and said the ton of feed is almost a month’s supply for the horses in Redemption Road’s care.
