The Tennessee State 4-H Championships were held June 17-22 at the Walking Horse Celebration Grounds, Shelbyville, TN.
Divisions included: Western and Western Ranch, each with pleasure/riding, horsemanship, and halter plus a trail class. Ranch Reining, Ranch Cutting, and the Hunter Division: Dressage, Jumping. There was also a Walking/Racking horse and Spotted Saddle Horse division.
To qualify for the State 4-H Championships, members must have gone to the regional show in Martin, TN May 31-June 2. Qualifiers from the State Championships may go to the Southern Regional show in Louisiana the first weekend in August.
Tipton County 4-H sent four members to the State Championships: in the Junior division: Becca Moore; in the Junior High division, Julia Crow; in the Senior division: Carrie Ross, Lauren Crow, and Katlin Moore. All rode in the Western and Western Ranch divisions. Julia also rode in Junior Working Hunter and Hunter Hack.
