The 41st annual National Bucking Stock Sale was held January 11-13 in Oklahoma City, OK, prior to the International Finals Rodeo (IFR). At the sale, Professional Bull Riders and Bull Fighters competed on bucking horses and bucking bulls. There were 222 bull riders and 240 bucking horses at the sale. Corey Bailey of Paris, TN (former TN High School Rodeo Association champion) won the highest average/1st place in Bull Riding.
There were 46 teams in the Team Bull Fighting competition, with two members per team. Teams were judged on cowboy protection, free style bull fighting, and working the barrel. First place went to Justin Wolfe of Louisiana and Justin Shoemaker of Arkansas. Second place winners were Dave Janzvi of Oklahoma and Shawn Walker of Oklahoma. Third place went to John Roberts of Shelbyville, TN (former Dyer County Tennessee High School Basketball star, who is now a Bull Fighter) and Matt Carter of Paris, Tennessee.
