Nashoba Carriage Classic Pleasure Show and Arena Driving Trial by Lauren Pigford The Mid-South’s Carriage Association, Nashoba Carriage Association, held their yearly Carriage Driving Pleasure Show and Arena Driving Trial (ADT) Oct 22- 24 in Germantown, TN. Exhibitors participated in Dressage, a cones obstacle course, and a night time Arena Trial obstacle course finishing the ADT on Friday evening. On Saturday exhibitors showed in the new Super Reinsmanship Class. Reinsmanship shows the ability of the drivers to communicate with their horse or horses using the available aids: the whip, the reins and the voice in an effective, sympathetic manner to produce the desired result while driving a vehicle. This new class also combined a cones test as well as a skills needed to perform a dressage test demonstrating all variations of gaits. Throughout Saturday the drivers also participated in pleasure classes and more cones courses. The drivers finished with the “Magnolia Marathon” enjoying a beautiful drive through Germantown on Sunday. As soon as the show was over and all the awards were handed out, a downpour of rain, which everyone had eagerly anticipated, wrapped up the fun filled weekend.
