Lucky Dog Barrel Racing Series
First of 2010 series at Texarkana, AR March 13-14

Lucky Dog Productions kicked off its 2010 series with a two-day race in Texarkana, AR March 13-14. There were 682 competition runs and a total cash payout of over $36,000.
The top winner of the weekend was former WPRA World Champion, Janet Stover of Rusk, TX who rode two mounts, Deacon and Hobo, to a payday of $3,469.36. Stover had the two fastest runs of the weekend with 14.988 on Hobo and 14.940 on Deacon, out of the field of 320 contestants. Stover was the triple crown winner, taking home the Overall High Money, Senior High Money, and 1D Average buckles plus the fast time award donated by Med Vet Pharmaceuticals for both races.
Megan Williams of Daingerfield, TX set the pace at Saturday’s when she posted a 15.117 second run. This held the number one position until Janet Stover and Deacon turned in the fastest time of the day with a 15.054.
The pace quickened Sunday when Jody Dorman and SFW Nonstop Sunfrost stopped the clock with a 14.950. Two runs later Beth Townsend of Shreveport, LA and Just JJ turned in a 14.990!
The 2D Average Champion was Vivian Hickman from Malvern, AR, She rode Docs Ima Lite Boy to two times of 15.546 and 15.537 to earn the average buckle and $450.37. Hickman’s total money earned for the weekend was $636.49.
The 3D Average title went to Brooke Bale of Little Rock, AR. Bale and her mount Bullet turned in times of 15.904 and 16.117 for an average time of 16.001, landing them a $300.25 check and Red Bluff buckle for the average win.
The 4D Average was won by Vona McDougal of Avery, TX and her mount George. The duo’s average time of 16.997 won them the 4D average buckle and $225.19 cash.
Two other Red Bluff buckles were awarded to the Youth and Adult side pot high money earners of the weekend. The Youth buckle went to Cheyenne Richards of Quitman, TX whose earnings totaled $902, of which $190.40 came from her side pot earnings. The Adult buckle winner was Kyle McCormick of Vivian, LA who earned $412.80 in the adult side pot and a weekend total of $1,272.51.
Sarah Jones from Hot Springs, AR was the winner of the fully tooled Twister saddle.
