Serenity Farm Sends Three To GAIG Regional Championships In Lexington, VA October 22-25th by Mary Burrows Trainer /Owner Michele Renshaw’s Serenity Farm Dressage sent three riders to the Greater American Insurance Group (GAIG) USDF Regional Championship (Region 1) . Two junior riders, Julia Stevens from Collierville and McCallie Moore from Murfreesboro, competed in their first championship. Both rode in Junior Training Level and Dressage Equitation. Julia rides Bennington, an American Warmblood, and McCallie rides Zachary, a Connamara Thoroughbred cross. Julie was High Point Junior Rider at the show, placed seventh in the Training Championship class, and placed third in the 12-and-Up Equitation. MacCallie placed first in the Dressage Seat Equitation 12-and-Under and fifth overall in the Junior Training Level Championship Test. Macallie is a member of Middle Tennessee Pony Club. Mary Burrows, an adult amateur, also competed in her first Regional championship on her Quarter Horse, WW Black Magic, in the Adult Amateur 1st Level class. “Region 1 is a very tough region,” said Michele Renshaw. “We chose to go there because it was relatively close, and the facilities were just wonderful. We knew we’d get to see some great riders and horses compete.” “I just went for the journey,” said Burrows. “My class had over 43 riders. I finished with a very respectable score in the middle of the pack. I was the only person in my class riding a Quarter Horse! He held his own with all the fancy imported Warmbloods. I was extremely proud of myself and my horse.” WW Black Magic is currently ranked in 3rd place at First Level in the USDF All Breeds Award program for 2009. Serenity Farm Dressage is a full-service dressage facility offering board and training, as well as mare and foal care. Renshaw is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist, a judge in the ”L” program, has shown up to the Intermediare Level, and has ridden in and won many regional championships. “I was very, very proud of my students,” declared Renshaw. “Just the fact that they were there represents a year of very hard work and dedication.
