Equine Artist Shows at Run for the Bucks Event Garnet Smith, artist from Germantown, Tennessee had her first art exhibition at the Run for the Bucks team roping event at the Show Place Arena. She describes herself as a long-time “horse person,” but after “getting thrown and hurt too many times,” she can no longer ride. “So now I paint horses. I raised Quarter Horses for years, stood a stallion at stud, and used to show Western pleasure. I also showed Appaloosas. It’s hard to give up what you love. But I am blessed with the talent to paint.” She stands between her paintings “Spirit of the Alamo” and “Beautiful Paint.” For more information about her paintings, call (901) 757-2095.
