USTRC Muddy River Classic
February 20-22
Team ropers from all over the Mid-South area competed for sizeable payoffs and prizes at the U.S. Team Roping Championships “Muddy River Classic” Feb. 20-22, 2009 at the Shelby Show Place Arena. More than 1000 teams competed for the total payout of $179,270. Johnny Johnson and Jx2 Productions organized the event.
Adam Rose and Jeff Brown of Missouri won $3700 in the Classic Open Average with a time of 32.82 on five steers. Drew Horner, Jr. and Dryce Stoner of Texas took the $900 Classic Open Incentive with a time of 27.88 on 4 steers. Cody Joe Heflin and Shawn Kreder took the Class Open Overall FT with a fast time of 5.47 seconds.
In the Gold Plus, Sal Cannizzaro and Rickie LeBlanc of Louisiana took the $4,030 gold prize with the fast time of 31.35 of 4 steers. Jeffrey Hartfield, Sr. and Ryan Shaw of Indiana claimed first in the Gold Plus Incentive with 24.73 seconds on 3 steers. Kenny Carlin and Jay Hale of Missouri took first in the Gold Plus SGO with 6.27 seconds. Luke Tyree of West Plains, Missouri and Chance Roper of Viola, Arkansas were only 10 seconds slower with a time of 6.37 to win first in the Gold Plus Rot 1 FT. First in the Gold Plus Round 1 FT went to Ronny Hyde of Bloomington, Indiana and Scott Conlee of Winchester, Kentucky.
