West Tenn. Expo Center Will Feature Enclosed Arena
Event Held On September 15
An afternoon and night of running barrels and roping filled Baier Arena in the China Grove community in Gibson County, Tenn. on September 15. The events were held as a fundraiser by the friends of Gibson County, a 501c3 nonprofit organization formed last year with a goal of building a multipurpose complex.
Ted and Sue Baier have been active in the organization and offered their arena for the day.
With the aid of the Dyer Industrial Board, 32 acres has been secured for the project on Hwy 45 W. Plans call for the West Tennessee Expo Center to be built in stages over the next five years. Individuals and businesses are stepping up to the plate with contributions and grants are being sought according to Rhonda Casey, President of the group.
An outdoor arena is in the process of being constructed in the first phase of the project. plans are being made to have a tractor pull on the site next year.
The complex will also offer educational and entertainment opportunities for area residents.
