Mid-South Dressage Academy Turkey Trot
The Mid-South Dressage Academy (MDA) hosted its last in a series of four United States Dressage Federation (USDF) recognized shows on November 18-19, 2017 at its Hernando, Mississippi facility. The show offered a full slate of classes, ranging from Intro to Grand Prix, with a USDF/FEI Freestyle test and a USDF Pas de Deux test. Susan Kolstad sat at the center line as the Senior Judge, with Technical Delegate, Michelle King. Kolstad, of Florence, Kentucky, is an “S” judge and has been awarded USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals.
Saturday began with Danielle David scoring a 71.136% on her Mustang, Percy Jackson, in the Open Training 3. Kalie Beckers rode Madoc Mari to a blue ribbon finish in the Open Second Level 2 with a score of 72.436%. Kathryn Stoy and Nancy Smith rode their Fourth Level tests to first place finishes. Jennifer Van De Loo rode her Oldenburg Lanzelot 99 to win the Qualifying Open Grand Prix with a score of 63.500%. The Qualifying Open Prix St. Georges class had two competitors with Ciera Foley on Asterix, a Danish Warmblood owned by Jane Hays, taking the blue with a score of 66.579%. In second place was Kaley Breland and Carush with a score of 61.842%. Karen Sprawling and Whispering New Image won the Adult Amateur Prix St. Georges class. Kate Ernst and Keeva won their Third Level test with a 62.692%. Ruby Reithel aboard Calzone completed the Third Level test two with a score of 61.795%.
Debbie Hill wowed the crowd with an impressive USDF/FEI Freestyle routine on Robbie Rice’s Dutch Warmblood Cartier, scoring a 72.450%. Debra Callahan and Briljanth completed the Third Level Test One with a score of 58.182%. Ashley White, riding Alexandra Du Celliee Muller’s Thoroughbred River, won the Second Level test one with a score of 66.970% and won the Open First Level Test with a 74.000%. Kalie Beckers and Angeber won the Open and Jennifer Van De Loo and Fair Gold Hm won the Adult Amateur Second Level test three.
First Level Test Two AA winner was: Kristin Lamberson riding Susan Lagston’s Con Dia with a score of 69.844%. In second place was Susie Langston and Ulona finishing with a score of 65.000%.
Sunday opened with Danielle David winning the Training Test 3 with a score of 67.5%. Natasja Massey of the Netherlands won the FEI Intermediate II class on her Dutch Warmblood, Windsor. In the Training One Opportunity Class, Elizabeth McGibbony and Count Can Book rode to a first place finish with a score of 65.652%. Aislin Falasco rode Pablo to a second place finish with a score of 63.043%. In Training Test One, Gabrielle Callahan and Baronessa finished first with a score of 62.391%.
Sarah Baggette riding Fliegan had the highest score of the weekend – 74.348% in the Training Test One AA.
