By Brandy Perry

The 2017 Southern Regional 4-H Horse Championships were held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry, Georgia on August 2-6, 2017. The Championships brought 4-H youth from 13 states across the south to compete in educational contests and a horse show with classes ranging from hunters to speed events.

The Madison County 4-H team, sponsored by Bit by Bit Ranch of Milan, Tennessee, competed at the Southern Regional 4-H competition. The team members were Taylor Perry, Abby McCalmon, Katherine Ann Thierfielder, and Zach McCarver. The team qualified to compete after earning second place in Hippology and Horse Bowl at the State competition held at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville this past February.
